Carbon paper is a special paper treated with chemicals that react to heat or pressure, usually used to make copies through the process of carbonization. When a person writes or draws on the top side of the paper, the chemicals underneath react to the applied pressure, creating a copy of the writing or drawing on the underside of the paper. This process is often used in office forms or other situations where manual copying of information is needed.
